The new dice example (https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-js/tree/main/examples/dice) pulls in dependencies from contrib, which pollutes the locally linked packages with the previous version. Most notably this setup broke the automatic release preparation #6869, which required manual cleanup before it was ready to merge. We should either: unlink the example from the workspace so that it is independent or move it to contrib and link to it from this repo.
