Commit 5e9cb0128d1b600ff74505429269fd4dff367f4a causes shared libraries not to be built unless both BUILD_SHARED_LIBS and YAML_BUILD_SHARED_LIBS are set.  This is surprising to me, and the current documentation only mentions the latter variable.
