In the generated OSGI manifest of Atmosphere, we we that that "io.quarkus" is entered as dependency to the atmosphere.runtime. AFAICS it is just an optional dependency:

    static {

        boolean runningOnQuarkus = false;

        try {

            Class.forName("io.quarkus.runtime.Quarkus");

            runningOnQuarkus = true;

        } catch (ClassNotFoundException ex) {

            // class not found, not running on Quarkus. Just ignore the exception.

        }

        IS_RUNNING_ON_QUARKUS = runningOnQuarkus;

    }        





So maybe you can define io.quarkus also as optional in the MANIFEST.MF?
